King of Austria

When you hear of Austria, you can’t help imagining picturesque skiing resorts and forests, majestic architecture… The country where Mozart and Strauss created their masterpieces generously shares the inspiration. One of its sources is the exquisite wine. The main star of wine festivals in these parts is always Grüner Veltliner, the true King of Austria. It is widespread in all wine regions of the country. But late ripening times didn’t allow it to become popular in a colder and wetter climate of neighbouring Germany and Northern Europe. It is a very gastronomic wine which arouses appetite in a flash. Thanks to its wonderful freshness Grüner Veltliner is a great match for green salads and seafood - especially oysters.

Meet the King of Austria - Grüner Veltliner Löss from a family-run Hiedler winery.

It’s a bright wine with a mineral character and flavours of white flowers and green pepper. Its complex taste unfolds hints of apples and apricot.
